In
commemoration of their 215th anniversary, the Philadelphia Police Department has
authorized this unique badge, lapel pin, and coin set.
The
215th Anniversary badge design is in the oval shape of the first issue City of
Philadelphia Police badge of 1845. Featured on the oval shaped shield is the second
issue 6 point star, with the unique folded points and Pennsylvania coat of arms
in center. (The second issue badge was commissioned in 1851.)
The
215th Anniversary badge is die struck in .102" solid brass at 800 tons psi
to bring up the most meticulous detail. The badge is finished in pure gold plate
and is dapped with heavy duty safety pin and catch.
Coin
is 1 3/4" in diameter.
